my tickets are behind the husky bench, after every series Browning talks to Hamdan before ever getting on the phone to talk with Smith. Probably a reason why he also got promoted to 'passing game coordinator'
Lake moving up is interesting, not sure if that is so they can pay him more or if that is designed for succession planning.
Hamdan has some big time experience at Florida, but it was only one year. Was hoping for a bit more of a splash there.
Ensuring that Lake stayed in the program was a priority. Not only do I agree with you about it giving the excuse to pay him more and as a way to cover potential succession planning with K, but it also potentially helps to free up some time for K to work with the DL going forward.
The only worry that you have with this kind of move would be what K thinks about it ... but I'd be shocked if this wasn't done with him being aware of it up front ... and you never know if it was designed by Pete or K.
As for Hamden, while on one hand you'd like to get a more named hire, everything I'm hearing suggests that he has a chance to be a bright star when it comes to the coaching world. Probably a better hire than many would want to admit.
If Jonathan Smith doesn't get his shit together next fall, expect Rush Hambaugh to be more than the passing game coordinator in 2017.
***** -- Huskies should be pretty good on offense with one big-time receiver signee, a healthy and focused John Ross and Kaleb McGary coming into his own as one half of the most talented pair of young tackles we've ever had.
KG was reporting that Bush was going to Montana State with Choate. Now he's saying that he's known all along that the last few weeks Hamdan was auditioning for the full time job. Of course he failed to mention this to his paying customers.
It's not a bad hire, generally the offensive qc position is the next coach up type job. So it isn't unusual. But why did he wait to do it? Probably indication there wasn't many outside options that were that great, whether that be due to Petersens judgement or others interest.

Puppy thinking our great Pole going to be moving on to big leagues very soon if not sooner. Prepare yourselves come the end of the NFL season. He's likely gone, but ill throw a Kimism in.." I wouldnt be surprised if he stayed either "

But maybe he was promised a promotion after one year toiling away in QC?
