The most encouraging thing about UW hoops
Going into today's game, UW was #3 in the nation in adjusted tempo per kenpom. Small sample size for sure, but this means that given a tempo neutral opponent UW plays at the third fastest pace in the nation. Once upon a time UW was always in the top 20 in this stat, but ever since we(?) went high poast that dropped into the mid to low 100's (around the national average).
Romar ball works best when he has a deep roster of long, interchangeable athletes who are willing to push the tempo on both ends. It's early as fuck, but it appears that may be the case this year.
Chriss, Murray, Crisp and Dickerson all appear to be legit, and Thybulle and Dime have shown flashes. Even Deruisseau doesn't appear to be worthless. The Zaggots still probably plunger us, but this promises to be a fun team at worst, with a shot at actually being pretty damn good.

Compete with Zaga, nothing else matters
Emotional rollercoasters are much more fun than being reasonable
The least encouraging thing is that Romar is still the coach and he will always get exposed. You could give him the All American team and he wouldn't win a title.
