Despite a second consecutive season where the Huskies rank near the bottom in several notable offensive categories, Smith and Petersen are confident the offense, built around Browning, is moving in the right direction.
Glad to see they put together "core quarterback values" that have results in sh!ttier and sh!ttier QB play year after year. We were better off when they thought our QB was gimped and decided to run the ball...
"One positive takeaway from UW’s loss at Arizona State last week: The Huskies had a season-high 547 yards of offense. The bad: They converted all those yards into only 17 points."
The plan is to rack up 1,094 yards of offense resulting in 34 points. Huskies win rather easily 34-17

Every time I read an article about Petersen and his offense, it makes more and more sense why it has been so bad.
It's so pussified and over complicated.
Petersen keeps saying "everything has to be perfect or else we're in trouble," and "our margin for error is so small that we can't make a mistake."
Well, yes. This is a biproduct of the precision needed to run his scheme. It's great if it works, but it doesn't account for the growing pains of players that are: a) not used to your scheme; and b) too young to step right in and implement.
If we were a senior-led team with players that have spent years in this offense, then fine.
I think some are misinterpreting the "everything has to be perfect or else" statement ... I'm reading some of that to be a thinly veiled jab at some of our more experienced players and their lack of execution as well as noting that young players are having a hard enough time doing the basics that being able to think on their feet and just play and react is hard enough.
But, I do think that there is a bigger point that also is in play in that if you have an offense in place that requires players to think too much instead of just being able to react and play, then it doesn't matter how well your plan is thought out it's just too difficult to execute.

Can you lower expectations any further?
