the SEC is really good at only letting teams get overrated if they're going to play better teams within their conference and consolidate their ranking equity.
on the other hand the Pac-12 selflessly overhypes the shit of out all their teams and gives away the conference value in OOC losses.
The SEC gets hype, because they win championships and usually dominate when they play big OOC games. When was the last time a Pac-12 not named USC team won a natty? The SEC has had 5 different national champs since 1998...

Yeah but it wasn't fair
Just what I am hearing
I'm hearing life isn't fair and you should just suck it up or fuck off.
The current rankings show the committee wants two SEC teams. It's set up for Bama to win this Saturday and win the SEC. LSU wins out and also makes the playoff.
Bama being #4 and Notre Dame #5 is bullshit. It shouldn't be a surprise though.

if ole miss wins out it takes the SEC East, then what?

The SEC is out.
There are 5 power conferences for 4 spots. One isn't going to make it. No one will get 2. We have 5 weeks of games left.
Odds are 4 - one loss teams get in and someone has a sore vag
TCU and the Big 12 is set up where the Oklahoma schools, Baylor, and TCU all play each other in November. None of those teams have really proven anything worth a damn this week other than the egg that Oklahoma laid against Texas.
It's always been win the games on the schedule and control your own destiny. With the way the Big 12 is set up they aren't getting into the playoff unless it's a blue blood (which it won't be with Oklahoma/Texas being down ... and yes, I know Oklahoma has only lost 1 game but they are either the 3rd or 4th best team in the Big 12 in my mind) or the non blue blood is clearly one of the top 4 teams. They didn't get in last year simply because there wasn't enough of a compelling argument to CLEARLY prove that they were better than Ohio State and Ohio State is a blue blood. The fact that Ohio State won the title will only make it easier for the committee to act in a similar manner this year.
The only thing I don't agree with at this point is that Alabama is in the Top 4 ... that's on name only. Not only are they not the best 1 loss team in the country (I think that's Notre Dame) but the game that they lost to Ole Miss was bad ... it wasn't as close as the score indicated.
What's your prediction for the LSU v Bama game?
A game won by whichever team's QB sucks the least ... probably Alabama by a FG at home.
I don't expect a very pretty game ... something like 13-10 or 17-13
Bama would hang 50 on TCU and not give up 60 like some lame ass Big 12 team
TCU's defense has been beaten up most of the year and they've been plugging in young kids that weren't expected to see the field much (if at all). They've generally played pretty good defense this year with the exception of the Texas Tech game (who have established that they can put up points on just about anybody) and Kansas State (who had a great game plan designed to grind out 3-5 yards per play and got helped out by a number of critical penalty calls).
We'll obviously know a lot more about the TCU defense in the next 4 weeks.
As for the whole Bama would kick the shit out of TCU argument, how did that work for Ole Miss (who routinely the last couple of years has made Bama their bitch) in the Peach Bowl last year? Scoreboard bitches.

Ole Miss isn't the subject here but nice our defense is young and only got worked over by the two best teams we've played rant anyway

I don't think 2 SEC teams is realistic. Bama probably has the easiest path to get to the finish line (SEC Title game) with 1 loss although the game next week at Starkvegas could be a massive hangover game. LSU's strength of schedule is coming up over this month with games against Bama, Ole Miss, TAMU, and Arkansas. Florida also has a say in this debate and will not be a push over to the West Winner (whoever that may be). And of course, the elephant in the room is Ole Miss who is relatively well positioned with a game this weekend against Arkansas, a rest week to get ready for LSU before heading to Starkvegas and the Egg Bowl.
As for Bama being #4 and Notre Dame #5, IMO, ND has the stronger resume at this point as its loss was a) on the road and b) was to the #1 ranked team in the current poll (Clemson) compared to Bama that got beat at home to a 2-loss team in a game that wasn't as close as the score indicated.

I want Ole Miss to win out so a one loss Alabama or LSU can't make it to SEC Championship game.

That is the anti SEC dream scenario. But Florida has already beat Ole Miss once. They could be there as SEC champ with one loss

Notre Dame sucks. They would get smoked in the playoffs. They barely beat Temple and Virginia.

Agree but the sample set of last year and this first poll tells us money talks and bullshit Big 12 small schools walk.
Someone this morning said, if it was Oklahoma and Texas instead of TCU and Baylor would the rankings be the same.

Wonder if TCU and Baylor were playing this week what the top 4 would look like.

Probably not quite honestly.
