Thread should be "Can anyone find a good coach in America?"

Meyer, Saban, Dantonio, Harbaugh, Stoops, Patterson, Briles, Jimbo Fisher. Todd Herman at Houston is going to be the next big name. Good coaches are out there. They aren't in the Pac 12.
    Wait...what?
Brought FSU back after Bowden. Natty followed by playoff appearance. Maybe not great, but pretty good.
    Got skullfucked by Slingblade.

After winning 29 games in a row. But still.

I don't consider Baylor and tcu real football programs.

That doesn't mean they wouldn't put 100 on washington. But they're Baylor and tcu.

I will give you Baylor because the only teams that choke more often than them are Georgia and maybe Oregon.

You may be confusing TCUs current offense and thinking they are all sizzle and no steak. Patterson built the program off of steak
Maybe it has to do with the fact TCU has only been in a real conference for a few years?
Look at their record against power conferences when they weren't

So you are showing Boise coaches as some kind of proxy to Patterson?

I think 2 losses before October has really fucked with your mind Duck

Jimbo is a high-end recruiter ... so so game day coach ... has absolutely no control over his program.

Comparing Jimbo to Petey is laughable.

Jimbo's something like 63-11 to date, so yeah I'd say he's good.

Teams rarely go unbeaten. Bama is a great team. Saban is a great coach. Urban is 25 -0 in the B1G. Great coach.

Greatness is rare by definition. Just have to keep looking

Saban worked for James. Urban interviewed here

    We struck out

Beginning to wonder if the dreaded Florida Gators didn't in fact get it right with their most recent chance. Probably a little bit of a stretch, and yeah I know they basically lost to Tennessee, but they didn't and rallied at a point in the game when 98% of the teams in the cuntry are already 'lining up they bitches' for the evening. And while I didn't see the game, it sounds like they rolled Ole Miss.

They could, perhaps, be on their way.

The question, I assume, was whether there's a great team right now. Ohio State was a great team last year. I can't tell yet if they'll be one this year.

I"m relatively certain Boobs could win 27 in a row with that talent.

Hell, I could win 24 in a row recruiting to this:

    everyone else got it

Boise coaches who had good records against the 1-2 P5 teams they played each season. Then they took jobs at P5 schools and... not so much

Although I will freely admit that Oregon's freefall has fucked with my mind

I completely get that ... didn't miss that one at all.

What I was getting at was that you were showing me that shit in reference to Patterson ... who has proven it at the higher P5 levels.

And remember Duck, I seem to recall a discussion with you where you were warned that VAJ wasn't that good and that it'd be interesting to see how Helfrich and the team respond when they don't have a good QB option. Denial would be a good way to describe your response.
