So I was at the game and last night I watched it again on TV...

Three points:

Dwayne Washington dropped a sure touchdown pass in the 4th to put us ahead. Ball was right on the money. Announcers claimed sun got in his eyes. #SheltonSampsonFacemaskNeeded

The calls the refs made were absolutely pivotal in the 4th. Watching on TV, the overrule of the long pass down the sideline out of bounds completely baffles me and the late hit call was a phantom call.

A lot of the run plays that were stuffed ( great example 1st run by DW in the 2nd half ) because the TEs did a horrible job blocking. TEs need to learn how to block.

Takeways:

While we had no business even being in the game in the 4th with how poorly our offense played, we were in it and with some "closing ability" by our offense, we would have won. Great play call, poorly executed.

When is the Pac-12 ever going to address their issues with Officiating? And it's not just football...someone's head needs to roll.

They rolled some heads a couple years ago but not enough. My main gripe, aside from just the obvious gross ineptitude, are the NUMBER of penalties. Every year the Pac-12 leads the nation in penalties, a lot of them being stuff that doesn't affect the play. I suspect officials in the SEC and Big 10 know enough about football to not call the ticky tack stuff. Pac-12 refs thrive on those calls.

Ball wasn't right on the money. It was catchable, but it was at least three yards to far inside (to the right). Should have been a catch, yes. But Browning's accuracy on that ball and the pick from the endzone was pretty bad.

The overrule of the long pass to Treggs looked right to me. Not ruling Goff fumbled made no sense, as did not calling the pushup, as did the late hit, as did the two first downs we lost on bad spots that we didn't challenge.

They rolled some shitty refs off the field and direct to the replay booth apparently. Not sure why it's so hard to find decent officials, the side judges last week seemed like the couldn't keep up with the game.

Bad spots are always difficult to challenge unless they are very, very clear.

Agree that the Treggs pass looked like a catch ... all depends on when you conclude that he established possession.

The Goff fumble is the one that I still can't believe ... it seemed very obvious to me that he wasn't down and instead was laying on the back of his OL.

The Tight Ends are Receivers and the blocking tight ends are sitting on the bench because they can't catch in an offense that doesn't throw to the tight ends
