I think the reason we're seeing it come down to Shelton and Adams is that we have more OTs to play than OGs and Cs. In other words, that Shelton and Adams are ahead of Crane and Sosebee.
Honestly, if the season is over, I'm willing to roll with a pair of future bookend tackles in Grizzly Adams and Oregon State Bound McGary. Let 'em get feasted on a bit this year. 2017 will be special.
I'm much more worried about QB than the O Line. It sounds like Lindquist still brings absolutely nothing to the table in terms of playmaking ability and potential but Pete's gonna be stuck with him because he's the only one not throwing an INT every other series in practice

Disagree. He has proven he can throw bombs with accuracy. He is also capable of running the football, which hopefully will be a big part of our offense.
A QB who brought absolutely nothing to the table in terms of playmaking ability and potential would be Cyler Miles.

And yet Cyler was easily able to beat Lindquist out for the job despite missing all of spring practice. Lindquist was actually 3rd on the depth chart last year.
If Lindquist is the starter, we will see an offense that is very similar to last years. Put training wheels on the quarterback and hope somebody else can come up big and win the game for you.

I think the issue was more with the offensive scheme than Lindquist, but poont taken
Imo, the battle comes down to McGary/James/Adams. Shelton is going to start. I realize Adams is strictly playing LT, but Shelton can go back to RT if Adams is the better than McGary or James. Whoever wins will likely struggle, but I am still intrigued by the competition.

A good sign since it sounds like either will be our starting SS this year.
LT: RS-Soph Coleman Shelton vs. true frosh Trey Adams (IMHO, Shelton starts but Adams will play and could pass him)
RT: RS-Frosh Matt James vs. RS-Frosh Kaleb McGary (have no idea here)
It's encouraging to hear about the growth in high-ceiling guys like McGary and Adams.

If Petersen thinks the OL can keep Browning alive for a season, then Browning will start.
If not, Lindquist will be in there to take a beating.
