Counterargument: the Pac-12 is just a few years behind the Big-10 Network, which had the same issues with starting up a proprietary network and a lower national profile than the Pac is at right now.
The burning question is will the Pac12Net ever get the kind of national distribution that the Big 10 net does? Pissing off DirectTV looks to have been unwise. -

Great in theory if it works because you keep 100% of the profit, unlike B10, SEC who give half to ESPN and Fox. Problem is it doesn't appear Larry can execute that plan. The pac12N is distributing minimal cash and withholding larger chunks of the carriage deals to finance Scott's master plan.
