@Kobe- Yeah, because all of the true freshmen except Shaq, ASJ and Kasen (all 5 star guys) have played great for us. We hardly ever pull in guys who are talented enough to thrive in their first year.
I actually am somewhat optimistic about the DL. I'm surprised Andrew Hudson is not starting. He was our 2nd best DL last year, so I am glad we have a couple guys who are at least on his level, if not better. The coaches seem to love Littleton, but he wasn't very good last year. Maybe they are planning to use Shirley only in obvious passing situations. If only we had some DT's, I would feel pretty good about the DL.
I agree with Passion about the punt returners. At least for the Boise game, put Kasen back there. It will probably be a close game and we need to make sure we don't have any muffed punts by a true freshman. At least we know Kasen will cleanly field the punts.

The player in question is John Ross, four star 15th rated wr on scout. Take it up with Nick Saban who played Amari Cooper, four star 12th rated wr on scout, last season.
Doucheman.com's view: True freshmen playing = great recruiting!
Real world view: True freshmen playing = underdeveloped upperclassmen.
(yes, I know that Shaq Thompson is an exception, and so is Herschel Walker.)

Uhhh...we don't have freshmen like that. Our freshmen get thrown to the fire because the guys ahead of them are busts, or their sitting on the sidelines jawing with cheerleaders while their foot is in a boot. Shaq Thompson is an exception, and my hunch is that JoJo Mathis will be a regular by mid-year...if not sooner.

Uhhh you realize this post is directly under the post that shows that John Ross and Amari Cooper have almost the exact same rating coming into the season.
I'm not worried about Ross and am excited about watching him play. My post was related to UW's true freshmen as a whole, not an individual. Certain individuals are surely good enough to play. I wasn't trying to bitch about Ross. All I said was that I would be more comfortable with Kasen returning punts in the first game.

That's a fair complaint. I just don't think it's relevant to right now.
My God people, it is 1 Frosh in the starting lineups.
When you look at the available 29 starting spots on offense, defense and S/T, 20 are filled by JRs or SRs.
There are some things to bitch about, but starting ONE Frosh is not one of them.
Look at our 2-deeps, and consider the recent history of this program. We throw guys into the fire that aren't ready far more than friggin' alabama.
We have 7 true frosh in this year's two deeps, and Sark has been boasting during camp at how much depth we have, and how fewer true frosh will have to play.

Haven't we seen this movie before?

You guys are embarrassing yourselves.
