Although I agree with you, I do find it funny that "Americans for Limited Government" are complaining about the US government cutting back it's involvement in Iraq. Kind of ironic, don't you think?
The fact is Iraq wanted us to stay and Obama could have extended the agreement for us to do so like he has done in Afghanistan
There's your facts
AZDuck is better than that. You aren't
Maliki did not want to give US forces immunity from prosecution in Iraqi courts - Maliki also wanted us to get the fuck out so he could get busy murdering the fuck out of Sunnis and ex-Baathists. GWB should not have signed the SOFA after the election, he set Obama up for failure because we had to renegotiate rather than negotiate.
But yeah, a deal was probably attainable if there had been the political will on the US side. But there wasn't
With regards to Iraq, you and I agreed, I believe, that there should be a status of forces agreement," Romney told Obama as the two convened on the Lynn University campus in Boca Raton, Fla., that October evening. "That’s not true," Obama interjected. “Oh, you didn't want a status of forces agreement?” Romney asked as an argument ensued. “No,” Obama said. “What I would not have done is left 10,000 troops in Iraq that would tie us down. That certainly would not help us in the Middle East.”
The one thing that gives credence to d2d's claims of serving in Vietnam is that he never makes any fucking sense. Maybe the Agent Orange is still eating his frontal lobe.
