How about this. Nobody played defense in the 80s. And defense is harder now than it was in the 90s. Just because of the rules and the way players and offenses have evolved. The ball movement and amount of good shooters now means constant running and sprinting to close out. Constant rotations.dnc said:
Defense in the 80's was nonexistent.RoadDawg55 said:
Explain to me how they played better defense in the 80's?TierbsHsotBoobs said:
What the fuck?allpurpleallgold said:
It does because guys actually have to play defense now.TierbsHsotBoobs said:
The 82 game seasons with private 21st century charter flights and soft NBA rules take a much bigger toll than the 82 game seasons of 20 years ago.BallSacked said:
Injuries have been a major problem in the NBA the past few years. OKC PDX and Miami I think all would have been final four possibilities if fully healthy this year. All are better than Hou and/or ATL at full strength.NeedleInTheSky88 said:It's a pretty lame final four. Talent wise, probably the lowest we've seen in years, maybe decades.
The only real powerhouse ATM is GS. Houston is lucky to have made it this far, and I personally think they are a weaker team than all the teams in the west who made the playoffs except for NOP, DAL, and POR. GS should handle them easily, I'd say GS in 5.
ATL is completely ovverated. They're a team that's built for the regular season, and not the playoffs. They got taken to 6 games by an awful Brooklyn team, and got taken to 6 games by a Washington team that ended the season playing very poorly, not to mention they were without Wall for half the series, and the other half he was playing with a broken hand.
Preemptive: Eat a dick boobs...
Everybody says so.
Defense in the 90's was significantly better. Technically, 20 years ago = 1995.
Fuck I feel old. -

Hawks sure are putting in a great effort tonight. Already down 0-1 in the series, and losing by 20 on their home floor to a Cavs team that is without Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love. Other than LeBron James, just look at some of the names on the roster: Dellevedova, Mozgov, Shumpert, JR Smith, James Jones.....not exactly great players.
-
Just give LeBron the trophy already.
-
Hawks don't have the horses. I could have told you that in January.

Wake me when he plays a team from the West.PurpleJ said:Just give LeBron the trophy already.

The crazy thing is those players might be better than what LeBron had last season with the Heat. JR Smith, Mozgov, and Shumpert would all be Miami's fourth best player. Delledova might be better than Chalmers and Cole.NeedleInTheSky88 said:Hawks sure are putting in a great effort tonight. The Cavs GM would give me confidence if I was LeBron. The trades to get Smith, Shumpert, and Mozgov were great trades. A full strength Cavs team would be really dangerous. -
Arguably the worst final four the NBA has had in decades. Hawks and Rockets shouldn't even be here.
-
The Hawks suck, but which team in the East should be there?NeedleInTheSky88 said:Arguably the worst final four the NBA has had in decades. Hawks and Rockets shouldn't even be here.

That's the point. There should be three West teams.RoadDawg55 said:
