Scrap the entire offense this year and install an option offense and run the ball 75% of the time with lindy

The spread O is going to be an utter disaster

Ive been saying this all along. Scrap the faggoty spread. The team needs to be a power run style that also takes long shots down field. The QB should run by design 7-12 times a game, which is why Lindy should be the guy.

I thought they might have tried this last year, sounds good to me

How long did it take RN to switch over in '99? I remember a loss to BYU and AF. Installed it shortly thereafter and Colorado and OR victories followed

Square pegs and round holes or however the saying goes

Just please don't let Lindy play qb when he's required to pass and read

So Lindy is the new Lockner?
According to some in here, he's the next coming, or um "improved"
I say move his ass to H-back, TE and wild cat, play a real QB and 2018 is special.

Lindy not moving to te... they have 4 and moving lindy would leave you two qbs that are both freshman.

J smith is the wrong guy, I can say that with confidence.

I know its vanilla and all that but tons of late throws, holding onto the ball and inaccuracy.

All qbs violated Pete's rules of making good decisions and not turning the ball over.

I don't care if they move him to the woman's softball team, point is he should not be anywhere near the starting QB next season, unless Petersen runs the option option which he won't . Just because both are freshman means shit when your upperclassman can't hit the broad side of a barn, and couldn't beat out Miley who may be the worse starting qb in Husky History, stats aside.

    It ain't '99.

Option will bring 20-28 pts/game...meanwhile the rest of the Pac will average 35pts/game.

Disagree. When they play us, they will average 38-42

you aren't going into a season with only two QB's. Lindy is the starter.

If you run an offense where there's clearly an abundance of running, you can simplify the passing game with 1-2 reads and move the pocket through play action. Not only will the QB potentially benefit with a simplified set of reads to make, but it will also help a young OL that may have their own challenges by moving the pocket and not allowing the defense to get an accurate and consistent read on where the QB will be at.

If the OL can in any way, shape, or form get enough of a push in the running game to make teams respect the playaction and movement of the pocket, then that will help the passing game. If the defenses start cheating away from the middle and to where they think that the QB will be at, then that should soften the belly of the defense for the iso and power plays right up the middle.

And going under center will dramatically help the offense in this type of setting.

I don't think the offense will be anything, but I don't expect the defense to be that bad. The defensive coaches showed me last year they can coach at least a little.
