I cannot get behind the hype about D. Washington. He blows. The things he needs to improve upon are pretty much innate and cannot be coached. He doesn't have the instincts or vision needed of a good RB. I hope I'm wrong but I doubt it. Coleman blows too. Freshmen will need to be big.
I think you're mostly right, but I also believe Dwayne Washington can still be useful. I don't think he will ever be a good every down back. He's fairly new to the position, so there could be a small chance the light comes on. I have no idea why he was a WR in high school, but he was. His high school coach must be retarded.
Washington will never have great instincts, but if they even improve a little, he could be pretty good. I also think he can be used a little better by the coaches. He doesn't have good vision between the tackles and is more of an outside runner. Get him in space. He's big, fast, and runs hard. CB's and safeties have a tough time tackling him. He had some impressive TD runs early in the season, showing power (Eastern and Illinois).
I agree about Coleman. He sucks. It's early, but I wouldn't be surprised if he eventually sells the couch.
I love Gaskin and think he will contribute this year.
