Murray vs Thybulle: Round 1
First meeting between the two UW recruits this season.
Beach held off Eastside Catholic and won by double digits.
Both teams were missing their 2nd best player due to injury.
Murray is a classic 2 guard - he can score from anywhere and create his own shot.
Thybulle is more athletic and definitely stronger, had some nice moves. He'll be a 3 in college.
If Thybulle got the ball down low, Murray couldn't stop him. But, Murray could drive past Thybulle to the hoop at will with his crossover and quickness. If Thybulle had a better shooting night from beyond the arc, EC could have pulled off the upset. Both players had less than stellar shooting nights, probably due to playing tough defense against each other all game.
Thybulle could take Anderson's minutes right now as a HS senior and be about as good.
Murray will be the best guard on the team next year.

He played in the Jamal Crawford summer pro/am and held his own/dominated against all the LA Clippers players (Crawford, Chris Paul) that came to town and all the former UW/local NBA players.
His biggest weakness IMHO is his slight build. He's not as buff as Wroten and IT. Some time in a college weight program could help him develop physically.
He reminds me of Klay Thompson with more slashing ability and better defense.
I've never seen Thybulle, but having a better version of Mike Anderson would be great. I'm curious about Chriss too. Next year was when I originally planned on getting back into UW hoops before getting caught up in this year's early run.
Good chit, Fremont. I like having a Seattle hoop head give updates.
I've never seen Chriss play. But he's rated pretty high. So that's nice.
I would give Anderson the edge over Thybulle on defense, but then Thybulle looked decent against Murray, which is a pretty tough test. Offensively they're not even close. Thybulle plays above the rim and has a quicker move to the hoop. But that's against HS competition. It remains to be seen how well he transitions to the next level.
