I was thinking the same thing the other day. If a guy can really play, it really doesn't do a coach any good to red shirt him. Kid might have saved his job, though he really is better off now, on that network nobody can actually watch.
I read earlier this year that the reason Hundley redshirted was because he was hurt.
Yep. He broke his ankle or tore his knee playing pickup bball. I think he could have played him towards the back end of the season, but by then RIck was done.

It's not about how good Hundley would have been, but how bad the other guys they had were. Like with UW's owen12 season. If Jack stays healthy it never happens. Not because Jack was good (he wasn't), but because Fouch was turrible.
