Stoops is top notch. It's amazing how shortsighted the football world is. He popped off, won a natty, beat sabans bama in a bcs bowl, and consistently has been in the conversation.
He got beat by petresend in arguably the most epic improbable 2 play stretch in cfb history in 06. He got plungered by Carroll in his prime. Get over it.
And at what point did Don James EVER lay this big of an egg in a bowl game?
This game is a downright embarrassment for Oklahoma Football.
He got plungered at times from 85-89. Who gives a shit whether it was a bowl game or conference game? It was just last year that Stoops beat Saban's ass.
They had a shitty season. It's not difficult to see why. They started the year top 5 in every poll. They lost a couple games and lost to their rival in fucktarded fashion. They didn't show up to a dreckfest bowl.
12,10,10,11 wins the last four seasons for Oklahoma. As a TCU fan, you should hope and pray to have that kind of run.

Tequilla, i generally respect your insight and take the time to read your mostly tl;dr posts, but if you've been on a team, you'd know how significant sports psychology plays a factor. Stoops failed tonight, no doubt, but this game is out of his hands.
Sometimes you get your ass beat and it compiles. This same Clemson staff got plungered by west Virginia 70-33 in a bcs bowl 2 years ago.
The smart money is on the guys who keep you in the conversation consistently and then you pray your 18-22 year olds get lucky and make plays to see you through.
Same logic has people running off Harbaugh when he's a top 3 coach in the world behind belIichek and carroll.
Oklahomo will be fine. They had an 8-4 season about 10 years ago and probably some others under Stoops. Oregon will have one of those eventually, hopefully sooner than later.

I absolutely get what you're saying.
I guess what I'm saying is that at this point, if I was buying or selling Oklahoma football as a stock for the next 3-5 years, I would be selling the stock. In the last 6 years, Stoops has only had 1 1-loss season in the Big 12. The general momentum of the program is going in the wrong direction and the "mojo" in that program seems to be turning a bit.
I'm not saying that I would fire Stoops at this point. But I would also be monitoring the situation very closely in the next few years. Stoops has just completed his 16th year at Oklahoma. I'm not saying that it is happening here, but sometimes it's human to start getting a bit complacent and need new challenges.

Stoops is about to start entering into some dead man walking territory.
They look 100% disinterested in this game.
But I'm not sure I see him winning the Big 12 next year.
I could see him continuing down the Mack Brown path of decent, but mediocre years by the standards that they've set and be out in 3-5 years.
The defense looks fucking pitiful under the Wrong Stoops.
I've got the popcorn ready ... nothing as a TCU alum scares me right now about Oklahoma.
