Pre-Spring Outlook for Next Two Years

Spring is going to be especially fascinating this year because we will see who gets added to the depth chart to replace the guys who are leaving. For 2015 there are lots of question marks, but you can see that by 2016 we will be stacked with experienced players who have been fully Petersen-trained.
This shows the guys returning based just on the depth chart released for the WSU game, and their class standing in 2015:
WR Does anyone else crack this group?
Pettis SO
Mickens SR
Taylor JR
Lenius SO
Hall SR
OL You need 8, we only have 4 experienced guys coming back
Eldrenkamp JR
Shelton SO
Tufunga SR
Charles SR

QB/RB Does anyone beat Miles out? Who is the backup? Who backs up the returning RBs?
Miles JR
Williams/Lindquist/KJ C-S/Browning?
Washington JR
Coleman SO
Cooper?
TE
Perkins SR
Daniels JR
DL You need 7. I see 6, but none are proven starters
Mathis JR
Tupou SR
Qualls SO
Finau SR
Wooching JR
?
LB You need at least 5. I see 6 possibilities now, but most are unproven
Bierria SO
Feeny SR
Littleton SR
Lawyer JR
Victor SO
Constantine SO
DB We are stacked here for the next two years at least
Kelly JR
Walker JR
King JR
Baker SO
Ross JR
Jones SO
Hale SO
Beaver JR
So next year we will be building depth and experience on the OL, and the defensive front 7, but look how few SRs we lose after next year. The guys who get added to this list will come from the classes of 2013, 14, and 15, and will all be around for the 2016 season.
If Petersen is who we think he is, 2015 should be good. 2016 should be huge.

The year after next year's team
That's his third year.
I expect a lot better this coming year -
O-Line, Dane Crane.

Add Brostek to OL.... redshirted this year.

Brostek has an odor of flameout about him. Hope I'm wrong.CokeGreaterThanPepsi said:Add Brostek to OL.... redshirted this year.

I can't wait to see player development.
Haven't seen that since Neu was coaching. -
Crane, Brostek, and lots of other guys are possibilities, but they haven't played yet.

Crane's film was good, really good.Auburndawg said:Crane, Brostek, and lots of other guys are possibilities, but they haven't played yet.

Race, I think year 3 is when we find out if Chris Petersen is or is not the next great Husky coach.RaceBannon said:The year after next year's team

Who the fuck is Auburndawg?
BTW, does Kim know you post here? Bannable offense. -
The roster management by the previous staff was such a piece of crap that 2015 was always going to be a problem no matter who was coaching. I honestly don't know how someone could fuck up that bad, but they managed to do it.
I think you could see something like 5-4 in conference next year and actually say it is a good year considering the circumstances. I would love to get to 6-3. My hope is that we see a team that actually functions as a team. This year we beat the teams we were supposed to beat, next year I hope the progress is to continue that, but add on an upset or two. That will be what I look for, and then springboard to 2016.
