Isn't that the answer about 81% of the time?salemcoog said:
So what you're saying is that we just need to LIFPO?RoadDawg55 said:
Alabama is good and they could beat Oregon. I'm not crowning Oregon, but they are a legitimate contender. Every team has flaws this year. It's wide open.salemcoog said:

Alabama's probably a better team than Oregon but they're Justin WilcoxFS when it comes to defending the spread option. I would not like Bama's chances in that matchup. If they get four weeks to prepare for a semifinal with Oregon I'd like them a lot better. In a title game with only a week or so, definitely not.RoadDawg55 said:
Alabama, the team that beat Arkansas by one. What a juggernaut. Alabama could win, but Oregon would probably be favored in that game. Mariota is the best player in CFB. Face it, Oregon is really good.salemcoog said:Canard said:It's really fucking simple. FSU edges shitty Notre dame at home. Asu, who until last weekend had never done shit for the greater conference, btw, buggers ND in the desert with a pitch fork. Finally.
Meanwhile, Oregon gets a top four ranking based upon being highly competitive for years as well as killing three "physical defenses," (no, UW is not one of them), while "looking good." The FS loss to Arizona is still to a team hanging around the CFP rankings.
Stomping three top defenses and losing to a ranked squad while suffering from key injuries > sliding by undefeated against a who's who of shit.
It's the math of the new CFB era,
Wow that's some quookin there.
Alabama among other teams ranked below you, would/will grudgefuck you and you know it.
The rankings aren't supposed to have anything to do with being "highly competitive for years". It's this year. And if people were taking into account past years, why did a FSU team that hasn't lost since 2012 get jumped?
A key injury is losing your QB or stud RB or WR, btw. If you shit the bed losing a key Olineman, it means you have no depth and don't belong among the top 2 if you lose.
Noone is really bitching about Oregon being in the top 4.
What people think is out and out corruption is Oregon being ranked #2.
Well then, by all means..... put a crown on their ass.RoadDawg55 said:

Nevermind that they beat A&M 59-0.
Also misremember that they just came back from death valley with a W.
The juggernaut that is Oregon has had trouble against the Cougs, Cal and the Utes ( It was 30-27 in the 4th qtr.)
They're an excellent team. But not good enough on the lines to hold up to the real big boys.
Saban is an outstanding coach and they always have talent. The dooging and cooging about how Oregon can't play with them is FS though. They can. In the past, what you say about the lines was true, but Alabama isn't an unstoppable force this year like they have been in the past. Sims is a pretty average QB, their OL isn't as imposing, and like DNC said, they struggle against the spread. -
Oregon's performance on the field and national brand is clearly getting the conference a little bit of a bump.

FFS. How else but getting the benefit of the doubt for years of high rankings does Oregon start in the preseason top five? The CFP committee ain't operating in a vacuum. Oregon never had to make its case from out in the field of unranked teams. That's all I meant.greenblood said:
Thank God you're not on the committee. If they used that format, Ohio State and Alabama would be ahead of Oregon right now.Canard said:It's really fucking simple. FSU edges shitty Notre dame at home. The statistical defense is pretty appalling, the scoring defense is acceptable. Last I checked, points are all that matters.greenblood said:
Oregon is really good, but the defense is still really bad. That defense would have to step up if Oregon is going to beat anyone else in the top 4.RoadDawg55 said:

As for Alabama, make their defenders have to think, without the benefit of mass platooning, and they aren't all that. -
Race's downvote to thechatch's comment above is just the saddest little downvote evar. It made me smile

ASU can be built into a powerhouse ... location, weather ... and pussy ... the three components to bring the boys in.
