I'd rather see a graph that shows more than before tax money income. This graph is too simplistic and doesn't reflect changing tax burdens and the impact of non- cash income sources. The tax cuts of 2001-2003 and 2008-2012 are not reflected here nor is income received as benefits and health insurance coverage from employers and the government. By ignoring benefits as well as tax cuts the income losses suffered in the recession are likely overstated. That graph would be an interesting contrast. Or not. But either way it's interesting.
