Auburn had Bo Jackson and Cam Newton, won 1 national title. Is that tradition? Georgia had Herschel Walker and a title in 1980. Tradition? LSU had a decent run since 2000. Is that tradition? Florida? Tim Renowned! Take him out and Spurriers little run and Florida has zero fucking tradition. l

Ask Don James about the SEC. He got his ass kicked in the 80s when he played them. They've been good for a few decades.

Before 2006, they didn't stand out any more than other leagues. Bammer won a title in the early 90s, Tennessee did in the late 90s, Jawja got lucky in the early 80s...Florida wasn't anything before Spurrier got there about 1990. Now they get favored in all the pre-season polls (6-8 teams are usually in the top 25), play pussy schedules with seven or eight home games, and rarely leave the south for OOC games. It's set up perfectly for them.

Is it a very solid league that's better than the Big Least and ACC? Sure, but last yr., Ohio State went undefeated and the media acted like New Mexico State went undefeated. Bammer has a loss and they automatically deserved the title. LSU had two losses a few years ago and they won it. It's total horseshit.

Some fact checking about SEC titles is in order. Alabama had a couple championships in the 70s. Mississippi and AL had titles in the 60s. The 80s were slim with one championship. The conference has been successful for awhile.

Schedule manipulation by the SEC is a legit accusation, but that's not uncommon. How do you get softer than the yuck schedule? They play one good team....Stanford. That's it. The rest are high school teams or teams that will finish 40th in the country like the Dawgs.

Tradition is more than titles, it's rich history, intense rivalries and fanatical fans. If you've ever been to SEC games, you'd understand this one. Contrast that with Washington in the 21st century....it's not uncommon for people get on you when stand up at games.
