BREAKING NEWS - Demond Williams

There's apparently a $4 million buyout in his contract if UW mutually agrees. UW could sell Demon to LSU.
-
Pretty sure Lincoln put a stop to that
-
Allegedly.

Seems like the Big 10 has good motivation to go after this BS. Conferences and schools should want to try and prevent unremarkable players from getting overpaid and continuing to drive up the market. This feels like it could end up being another Iamaleava situation.

^As long as it's not a distraction to football ops, which it shouldn't be, sure, go grab some $$.
-
Does anyone know what law governs the contract? Also, does anyone know if there is a forum selection clause?
Governing law and where the suit (if any) will be tried are enforceable terms in any contract and they're important. Given that it was a Washington player, I'm assuming Wa law governs but perhaps the Big 10 form contemplates everything being heard in federal district court in Chicago, IL and IL law will apply (since Big 10 HQ is outside of Chicago). IDK, but it matters because the point about punitive damages really varies by state. In Washington, though not impossible, they're hard to get and it's a high bar.

The exact language is that the buyout is at the "sole discretion" of UW
Time to get a one billion dollars from LSU

We? Are going to win the natty next year and make LSU pay for it!!1!
-
Yeah that seem unlikely to hold up.
