What many may not understand is the venezuelan tanker seizures probably also affected the Iranian bottom lines.
There's a massive black market fleet/trade that's settling trade accounts in oil (bc no one in brics has a real currency).
Cutting that black market fleet off was like cutting countries out of SWIFT. International trade between a bunch of shady countries was probably massively kneecapped which in turn is where IRGC gets a lot of its funding.

You must have seen the recent Zeihan video…or he says the same as you. Yeah, black market oil getting shut down is going to make some big things change here.

We had an admin asst at my last office who was from Iran- of course she would only refer to it as Persia. She was stunning- completely westernized. If we can help out the Iranian people so they send more of her our way, it's worth it.

Didn't watch him but it's pretty well known China/Russia/Iran/Venezuela all have the same trade interests and there's basically an international black market trading block or parallel economy. These are all economies desperate for capital to settle in bc no one will accept their worthless fiat currencies.
Weapons/oil/gold/drugs/crypto/slaves all being used to launder nation sized gdp numbers.
Lots of this been going on for decades but on Biden’s watch it went into overdrive. I'm sure the dems were benefiting from it.
Iran has been laundering oil since the shaw fell, ship to ship transfers being one of the methods. There's plenty of others though.
