About the Brown University President

It cost 100K a year to get a comparative lit, teaching degree or some other meaningless degree at Brown. 400K minimum to get out in 4 years. If you are going for a real degree such as bio med or something close, you can add another year to the totals.

An old friend sent his son there. His son had help from my friends wealthy parents (the kids grandparents) so he didn't come out with 400K in debt, but 400K was still spent. Against my friends wishes, the kid came out with a "Classics" degree. It is some sort of Grecco Roman history in literature degree. He is now an elementary teacher with just under $200K in debt.

My friends ex-wife is a liberal social climber. It was important that her little baby go to Brown so she could brag to her friends about his liberal education at a supposedly prestigious school that they could most definitely not afford.

The President of brown made over $3 million last year. She started in 2012 and has now been rewarded with over 700% in pay increases over those 13 years. Liberals continue to steal from the American tax payers by paying themselves outrageous pay packages.

The US Taxpayers have given Brown an average of 500 million a year for years. Trump cut that off due to lack of compliance with his DEI directive and the lack of concern by Brown trustees of the danger facing Jewish students on campus.

You rats can continue to send your brats to these outrageously priced universities but the rest of us shouldn't have to pay for it.

Your previous post was about the Feds stealing from us. Now it's universities charging exorbitant fees for worthless degrees. What's next? Are you going to say that major city governments like Atlanta are wasting money and raising taxes to cover costs?

I suppose you're going to try to tell me leaders of Non-Profits are stealing from the charities and buying expensive homes and vacations?

    Bike lanes uber alles

City of Spokane facing massive budget deficit. New priority is changing Spokane Falls Blvd to two way street and adding a bike lane.

Multi tens of million dollar project.

The blue contagion is everywhere. The California exodus of leftards fleeing high taxes, crime and homelessness turned Colorado deep blue. The result is leftards trying to replicate the great success of Cali. Massive new taxes for corrupt social justice programs. Anything to put criminals in jail or build new roads and maintain the existing road networks? Nope.

DISPATCHES FROM BLUE COLORADO: Expect a special interest stampede if ‘progressive’ tax passes.

You can predict some of the damage from Initiative 181 just by reading its miserably-written text:

It would amend the state constitution to strip away the protection of the single flat rate.

With constitutional protection gone, it would re-write the tax code to make it more complicated, replacing the single bracket with ten new ones—five for individuals and five for corporations.

The individual income tax brackets would range from 4.21% to 9.51%—far above that of any other state in the region and one of the steepest in the entire country. Moreover, there does not seem to be any protection from “bracket creep,” the insidious process whereby people’s tax rates rise relentlessly merely because they have kept up with inflation. Year after year, you would find yourself paying more and more of your income to the state.

On the corporate side, Initiative 181 would jack up the marginal rate to 9.51%, the nation’s third highest. This is higher than corporate taxes in lefty states such as New York, Massachusetts, and California. What’s more, this burden would be imposed on even relatively small corporations—those earning more than $1 million a year.

Initiative 181 would abolish your TABOR [Taxpayers’ Bill of Rights] tax refunds for any additional money generated.

It would send the extra funds to various social programs, most of which have a record of waste and corruption. Not a single dime would be spent to counter Colorado’s crime wave, retire our excessive debt, or repair our crumbling roads!

But there’s more than the text of this measure reveals. As I pointed out in a previous column, punitive (“progressive”) state income taxes have a documented record of discouraging investment and killing jobs. This is particularly so when a state hikes levies while other states are cutting them, as is happening now.

Colorado Democrats hate TABOR and have been chipping away at it for years, because the 1992 constitutional amendment limits state and local government revenue growth to inflation plus population increases, requires voter approval for tax hikes or debt, and mandates refunds of any excess revenue to taxpayers.

181 would gut the last obstacle separating Democrats and the total Californication of a once-great state.

These DEI hires are the same strategy demonrats used with the illegal criminal invasion. It is meant to destroy and end the USA. They hate it so much they want it gone and a new totalitarian communist state in it's place. It almost worked. Now we need to weed out every illegal and every DEI loon. We need to jail criminal demonrats in congress and state offices for their treason.

I know two people who went to undergrad there and said it was a joke. Helped them land great jobs out of college though.
