I don't think Trump had to say anything. Is not saying anything considered going the classy route? I'm just failing to see the point of the comments and where the win is for Trump here.
I agree that he didn't owe any nice comments or T's & P's.
The primary problem I have with Trump is that on certain occasions he needs to just keep his mouth shut and enjoy the wins that come his way. That doesn't mean being a feckless pussy like Romney was or having to be nice to your enemies.

Trump is no different than years ago when he started in on Rosie O'Donnell. But suddenly, Team dazzler is seeing that as a sign that Trump can't be President. Just another case of we aren't like them. If Trump was not compos mentis then we would say so. Just like the DOJ said that the dementia patient wasn't competent to stand trial. That was sort of a tell that the MSM and every dem ignored and lied about.

Reiner was killed by his drug addicted son. I would rather Trump have tied the entire issue back to the drug running out of central/south America. Bring the entire conversation back to narco-terrorism and no one on the right is in disagreement.
The left would still bitch that Trump made the conversation about his policies, but they have a lot less time in the news cycle.
