Interview in Sillicon Valley next week
Hey guys! Since my job status is a popular topic amongst people here, just wanted to share I’m in the final round of interviews at a Sillicon Valley based company next week for a Director position.

I read a funny tweet yesterday on someone's Amazon promotion. This guy was an engineer in AWS, unlike Buck.
Said that he was trying to get his promotion and needed to come up with some paper to present to them. Saw a back end java process that had been going for 5 years almost entirely without issue.
So he wrote a paper arguing for rewriting the entire thing in Go, which he got promoted and they did. More expensive, slower, and needed constant maintenance. But dude got his promotion and joked about the junior level guy(s) that were going to have to suffer through his bullshit Day 1 while he was no longer responsible for any of it.
