Why Washington Husky LB Jacob Manu won’t play against No. 7 Oregon

what facts? that UW has a confounding history of losing games to UCLA? I was student at UW in the 80s and extending into the 90s. I didn't just land here. I know all that.
but beating that UCLA team and beating this Oregon team have absolutely nothing to do with each other. UW no longer has a UCLA problem because UCLA isn't UCLA anymore at all.

UCLA is the same shitty dogshit team we can't beat in LA

UW in 2000 had true freshmen playing big roles. That’s 25 years ago. Playing freshmen is not a new thing. It was rare 30-40 years ago. That’s a long time ago. USC under Carroll played them every year. Oregon and everyone else too. Teams play their best players. It does happen.
A lot of stuff changes in college football, but the game is the same. Teams that are physical, block and tackle well, and get good QB play win games.
Looking at some depth charts online, Ohio State has one starter that’s a freshman and he rotates at RB. Indiana has none. Georgia has one. Texas A&M has one RS-Fr. Ole Miss zero, Alabama zero. Oregon has two. The strong programs aren’t starting freshman unless they are really good. You got one in Miami with Toney. It does happen, but it’s not common.

But I needed to upgrade my iPhone. The rent can wait

Agreed Davis is good. You could have gotten a good guard for his money.

@RoadDawg55 Didn't say it didn't happen. Just that it's become more common. I recall during that SC run that people made note of how many freshman Carrol was using, guys like Jarrett, Williams, Barkley, White, etc. Special teams and special recruits.
I am tempted to go with you while still in the honeymoon period of your return, but AI don't lie:
Aren't there like 4 or 5 true freshman starting at P4 programs right now?
Even if you're right, argue with Skynet at your own peril, Roadie.

My only problem with the Manu situation isn't field related.
It just emphasizes the disconnect of the modern game/player vs the traditions/rivalries that made college football special.
If you asked any UW player pre NIL/Portal if they could only play in one game all season 90% would say Oregon and 10% would say Coug.
The pride attached to schools is at an all-time low. It's just a label attached to a paycheck, like the NFL, and that sucks.
Whatever, just win baby, it is what it is.
