Has a coach with a 54% wining %
Ever caused so much strife within a fan base? I'm sitting here thinking(sorry in advance) that we have an entire portion of the fan base arguing that a 54% winning % is the standard. In conference, after 5 years we never eclipse 5 wins and yet I continue to see the movement of sark for president from the majority of vocal posters at dm.c. I understand many coaches leaving and how it leaves a massive void within the fanbase(charlie strong is a recent example). The guy put up win after win after win. I have no idea what the fuck sark really did other than leave this team with zero corners and a very shaky QB situation(for a QB guru). Are we better than Tyrone? Yes, i'll give him that. How that qualifies as the gold standard is beyond me.
I'm a realist in that Sark likely will do just fine at USC. USC recruits itself and if you put enough talent in the pool they will make up for the majority of his short comings. He will also likely improve as a coach. I can see him doing well there and good for him. It wasn't working at UW and most should be able to see/admit it.
That being said, I still can't believe how much reliance there is for someone who barely won 50% of his games. Looking at the dominance of Utah, Colorado, and Wazzu during Sarks tenure it looks even worse.
I can't get my mind around how a 54% coach after 5 years has a statue outside of the dm.c offices?

OTOH, Jimmy Lake has had limited time with the DBs this year and our front line guys (except for Peters) are all underclassmen and so are our back-ups. If Kelly is out for the year, it could be a shit-show against good passing teams on the road. What a mess Sloppy created...we no corners left from the 2010 class, just 1 corner from the 2011 class, no corners left from the 2012 class, and just 1 corner left from the 2013 class (Kelly) .
