I'm on record as being lukewarm on Judd. To the point I don't write out his real name. Having to nuke the progrum for the second time in two years though would be worse and I think things set up well enough the rest of this season and the next 1-2 so that he can do well enough to leave and we can reset with a new coach in a better position. BTW, who are these outstanding college football coaches you think are out there?

If Jedd can work on building the lines and keep attracting good skill position players and get us 9+ wins a year (barring major injury situations, etc), and he wants to be here — I'm fine with it.
He's not my favorite, but my preferences don't matter and I'm wrong all the time. If we listened to me, we'd probably have finally just fired Dave Aranda or some shit like that… 😂
With Jedd, I'm worried that HE doesn't want to be here long term and I'm really worried about it when considering his family situation, which in his defense is very understandable.

Winning 9 a year isnt good enough without breaking through and going deep into the playoffs every couple of years.

We'll know much more about Judd after November. Three games you should win and then your ultimate ruler game at home against the program you are ultimately judged against. LIPO.

Let me explain this to an Oregon fan…
When most (see: “non-Oregon”) schools replace a “Bellotti,” they usually fuck it up horribly. Most of us don’t expect to fall upward from something like this. Chip Kelly ain’t walking through that MF door, I’m afraid. We’re the school that fired Rick “Bellotti” Neuhiesal right before the season and replaced him with known failure Keith (“a bunch of midgets out there”) Gilbertson.

It's sort of implied that will happen if you're winning 9-ish per year.

Not always. See Pellini, Bo

Yep .. and now I'll bet they wish they'd stayed the course. They just had to give an extension to a guy who's barely over .500 halfway through his 3rd season.
I was just looking at their results:
Matt is in his 3rd year and is 18–15 (.545) .. so far this year they’ve beaten Cincy, Akron, Houston Christian, MSU, Maryland and Northwestern (so .. nobody with a pulse) .. and lost to Minnesota by 18 🤮 and Michigan by 3.
So the best win is a 3 point loss to Michigan. 😮💨
Looking at 2023-now on NU schedule, they have not one single good win under Rhule thus far.
Maybe U$C this weekend will be it?

Something to keep in mind: with the semi-hard cap of schools being able to pay players a certain amount and only one portal opening, the wild west days of a few years ago are over. Also, it's a much easier sell for players to go up a level (Cignetti taking guys from JMU to Indiana) than making lateral moves.
