No, Nathan Rhodes never played college football that’s why I asked if it was fair to include him. I guess Donny Mateaki was a big time recruit but you’re right that he was never that hyped after he enrolled. He just looked like 30 year old Junior Seau when he was in high school.

I've relaxed a shade on Durfee he's not hurting us and it's not his fault he got hyped. A solid rotation guy amongst other ok rotation guys. Having said that I might like Lynch playing a bit more than him

I vaguely remember his recruiting photo, not him looking 30. Wasn’t Chris Weinky something like 27 when he was drafted? The last recruit looking old and leathered was some Washington kid that possibly went to SC. Highly ranked like Huard and Smalls. I believe Smalls was played TE for the @BuffBuffPass

I am just confused because even our media was hyping Durfee before the NC game and all his Hurries. It is the most puzzling stat because when you look at it every play there is a hurry, what is the point especially if making the QB move does not affect the play

Rhodes I feel like I heard at some point everyone knew he had a back issue and would never play but Neu signed him because he was a 5 star and would help recruiting rankings.
Mateaki had probably the best recruiting profile picture ever, looking like a perfect NCAA Football Playstation created player, but was obviously a tweeter - too small to play DT and not athletic enough to play DE.
I remember someone saying Neu knew Casey Paus sucked and said it outloud but signed him because of TBS rating.

wow to offering kids that you know suck or aren’t going to play a scholarship seems very shortsighted and stupid. Rick isn’t stupid but if there is any truth to this I would be floored. He was the perfect coach at the perfect time and rode Tui and his magic. If not for the last RB season in 2001 we would be nearing 35 years without a Rose Bowl win which is very sad. Now with the new playoff format we will likely go 40 plus which feels criminal.
Rick’s got a great personality and he’s great on tv/radio, not a great coach. He won me over when he pulled out the Gold Helmet the day he was introduced as the new HC of Warshington! Pic-not the presser
