UnitedHealth to raise rates by 4% based on tariff uncertainty alone

Here's tangible evidence of the real cost of tariff chaos. That's just the tariff part though. It's going up much more than that, a lot due to fat ass Americans using $800/month drugs to lose weight.

    Quarterly earnings POTD.

    Any excuse will do.

Couldn't be that the vaxx subscription model is getting blown to bits with free flow of information and revenue is strained. Nah. Couldn't be.

As if UHC wasn’t going to raise rates and deny coverage wherever they can anyway.

We need anti-trust in health insurance carriers as well as hospital systems now. The decision-making power needs to go back to physicians and patients.

also, private equity in healthcare is another debacle.

    No worries Obama fixed healthcare

Best in the world at the lowest cost. Kept my doctor and saved 2500 a year

If private equity and a free market are the problem then why is plastic surgery, dental implants and lasik eye surgery better than 10 years ago and cheaper? There is pretty fierce competition for medicare money for those over 65. The new enrollment period is coming up and we will be swamped with Medicare Advantage ads on radio, TV and direct mailing. The feds and states have a super complicated regulatory bureaucracy to ostensibly provide cheaper health care. It doesn't, it just provides for massive paperwork and takes the good doctors out of the practice. Toss in cost of providing emergency health care to the homeless and illegal aliens and someone has to pay for it.

Nice show of straw men. The point is that UnitedHealth is only raising rates because they don't know what to expect as a direct result of tariff taxes. Which means, contrare to the repeated claims of Bob_C, that not only are they passing costs on to consumers, but in addition, they are only raising the rates as a hedge due to Mr Trump's unpredictability.

Yeah, the certainty of having the chicoms pretty much sole source much of our pharmaceutical production is definitely not a reason to encourage domestic production. You think that is a strawman? You do realize that the Trump tax cuts got renewed by one vote? You think the threat that if the dems win an election taxes will have a massive increase and that won't get passed on to consumers or be reflected in long—term investments because of cost concerns?

I was told Luigi fixed the costs of United healthcare.

Good move by the new CEO. Blame Trump and align with the far Left who made Luigi into a hero after the assassination of this CEO’s predecessor. I’d do the same, these ShitLibs are out for literal blood.

“I can’t help but raise costs, it’s Trump’s fault!” Slick

I mean, it even worked on the severely autistic @AOG who feels bad for poor United Healthcare. They can’t help but raise costs!

I can give you another one... we are running about 10 trains a day less than we should be this time of year of grain.... to be exported... the farmers are going to get hurt big time.
