Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told Newsmax on Thursday he was personally shaken by the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, revealing he had invited the late Turning Point USA co-founder and CEO to Israel just weeks before his death.
Kirk, 31, was shot in the neck during a forum Wednesday with students at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.
Netanyahu told "The Record With Greta Van Susteren" that Kirk was more than a voice for conservatism — he was also "a great friend of Israel" and a "champion of Judeo-Christian civilization."
"I want to say farewell to a great human being, a great champion of free speech, free debate, freedom," Netanyahu said. "Charlie Kirk, his loss is terrible. And we grieve for him, for his wife, Erika, for his two beautiful children."
A video from the event showed Kirk bleeding heavily from a wound to his neck. He is survived by his wife of four years, Erika, and children Mia Grace, 3, and James Charles, 1.
The prime minister disclosed that he had spoken with Kirk earlier this summer and extended a personal invitation.
"I called him a few weeks ago and I said, 'So, Charlie, why don't you come and visit us?' And he said, 'Well, I'm going to, and we were going to fix a date.' And that's not going to take place," Netanyahu said.
Netanyahu highlighted Kirk's consistent defense of Israel at a time when international criticism of the Jewish state has grown more intense. Netanyahu read from a May letter in which Kirk wrote: "One of my greatest joys as a Christian is advocating for Israel and forming alliances to defend Judeo-Christian civilization."

If they are this happy with Kirk going down, imagine the ticker tape parade all the politburo bros and their transitioned boyfriends who identify as cats would throw if it were Ben Shapiro.
Kirk was actually friendly and always seemed to genuinely want to reach out and foster mutual understanding. I also never saw Kirk demean anyone or try to make a side show or spectacle of anyone he was eviscerating intellectually. You show up to a Shapiro debate half-cocked and he bends you over and goes in dry and tells you to like it. Dude has no patience for stupid people and openly exposes their lack of reasoning for everyone to see, whereas Kirk's style was much gentler. Just my opinion. Anyone who bothered to watch Kirk and who didn't have an agenda would, again IMO, have to agree that he was actually not a tool when doing his thing and was always fairly polite. It was always with him just a factual matter that he disagreed with the left. I never saw him make it personal, but holy shit did he get it blown back at him personally all the time. Always kept his cool and never took the low road.
This fucking faction of American society is out of control with the sense that they are holding the moral high ground and are fighting a holy war against fascism. Everything is fascism now, just like everything was racism yesterday, and misogyny the day before that.

Two days before the January 6 rally, Kirk in a tweet boasted that Students for Trumps and Turning Point Action were “Sending 80+ buses full of patriots to DC to fight for this president.” After the attack, he deleted the tweet.
When asked about it, he took the Fifth.
