How much of a stander are you at games?

Yellow has officially entered the old age of standing police.

It used to be that the North side was for standing all game regardless, student section, get drunk and let it rip. South side was for alumni and Olds who wanted to sit and enjoy a game quietly.

I can remember the one time I fucked this up when younger and bought tickets on the South side. People weren't enthusiastic I had snuck a fifth in, wtf?

Just more proof the new layout and moving the student section was a trash money grab ultimately degrading the experience for everyone.

I'll stand up for critical defensive series in big games, but otherwise prefer to sit

If only there was a middle ground between standing the whole game or sitting the entire time.

I don’t think the north upper deck was ever a stand the entire time zone. Student zone on the north side was. The cash grab was lame.

Stood the entire game at the 1991 Rose Bowl. Didn't want to but the entire corner stood the game. Of course the guy behind me says sit down. I said Shirley you can's be serious

Generally I sat among the more refined fans

1990 USC the crowd stood the whole game including the blue hair Tyees where I sat. It just happened

I'd agree the upper level wasn't for the party but middle decks definitely were. Some people were here to party. This was also in a time before phones to fill in all the time between action.

Like I said, should have kept(and still could bring back)the North/South divide. Go Huskies chants might even sound good again.

The North Upper Deck is now primarily for craft beer dad to reward himself for making the journey with his wife and kids to the stadium which is not easy imo.

2023 that was the place in the stadium to be though.

People forget that while Race left UW early to go pro (in the trades), he's stilled descended of the South Sound gentry.

I always liked being under cover on the Northside Upper Deck. Came in handy for those Oct- Nov games.

Was pretty affordable to as you could get about 30- 35 yd line w/o Tyee Fees.

If you're in the lower bowl you're going to stand the balance of the game … particularly in a big game. I'm not sure that I'd say the design is shitty but it's definitely not as steep as you'd like it to be. If you are dumb enough to stand during the 3+ minute TV timeouts then I don't know what to tell you.

If you're in the upper deck and want to be a douche that stands in the tunnels blocking views from others you deserve to test the theory of "can man fly" down to the lower level … however, it's also not fair to those in the lower level to have some douchebag that is only interested in posing for pics on their social media to crush them when they get thrown.

And yes, for a big game you should be working to lube up those vocal cords days in advance and keeping them extra lubed during the game to avoid being completely hoarse for 3-4 days afterwards.
