Thanks Taft!

Great bored choice Stalin

Both are shitholes these days. Spokane is closing fast on the shithole rankings
Way more places to visit in this world than shitholes without worrying about safety and stepping in poop

Stav’s the best.

thanks Trump

Well I’ll point out the obvious. All of America cities are in decline from tourism thanks to cough cough our unfriendly policies toward international tourists.
But in order for numbers to drop like that, they need to be places where people wanted to visit in the first place.
-
Can you name a few of those unfriendly policies for us? Thanks
-
I’ll throw in, Seattle and Portland have a disproportionate amount of Canadian tourists who currently hate the US right now.
@RaceBannon Lets start with unfriendly trade policies with Canada, calling them the 51st state, looking to annex them…..should I continue?
-
We don’t let them come and vacation and stay forever anymore.
-
How does that effect tourism?
-
Canadians hate Trump and thus are disproportionally boycotting Seattle and Portland. Notable MAGA country cities. No holes in this theory.
-
Both Seattle and Portland have turned into sh*t holes. Plus both Canadian and US middle classes were punished by their leftard leaders response to the chicom crud. Things cost a lot more today than in 2019. Travel, hotels and restaurants are way up. People are priced out and cutting back.
-
Excellent point. I'll add to that point that the top 10 list of population decline sees 90% of them as democrat strongholds. Even the US population is not wanting to visit or live there anymore.
While liberals would never admit their failures in policy decisions effecting tourism and population decline, who wants to visit cities like Portland and Seattle where they aren't safe and the homeless population is everywhere you look? Defecating on the street, open drug use, cars aren't safe being parked on city streets, whacked out drug users threatening innocent people. Boarded up businesses are so inviting! In the case of Portland, nighttime fun is non-existent and you have to put up with roving gangs of the likes of the violent antifa. My friends in the metro area of Portland haven't gone downtown in years. My sisters company fined anyone who left any company related computers, files, etc. in their cars while parked in a parking deck owned by the company. The break ins were so numerous they had to do it. Their office building regularly had to hose off human turds blocking the double doors to get into and out of the place.
I get it bucky, you want to blame it all on Trump. We all know that is a bold-faced lie. Tourism was in decline long before the last 7 months. Grow up and take some responsibility for your party and your vote.
-
Let's all pretend it's not a reaction to Daddy.
-
5% of Seattle tourists are foreigners A third of all tourists in Seattle live somewhere else in Washington. Yeah I’m sure that’s a reflection on Trump. Jesus you people are idiots.
-
lmao.
It’s always daddy’s fault.
Couldn’t be the crime rates, open drug use, or homeless zombies shitting themselves in public.
Trump got tough on trade so now people from Vancouver don’t want to visit us anymore :(
Watching you people twist yourselves into pretzels over in the corner while that orange asshole stacks wins left and right has been amazing. You allowed a reality tv star to turn you into the party of illegal immigration and trans men beating up on girls in field hockey.
Fucking lol
-
So, it wasn't declining before Trump? Is that what you are claiming? I can share a slew of articles with you if you like.
-
Take it easy, lady. Nobody is saying that Daddy isn't hurting Americans economically too.
Seattle tourism was up in 2024.
Enjoy the no growth economy. It's what you voted for.
-
Seattle is doing worse than others though. Why is that?
-
"I wonder whether why Northern cities would be the most affected by declining Canadian car travel', mused Bob. "And the short drive for those East of the Mississippi and the Pacific Northwest makes the whole thing real mystery."
-
Canadians made up about 4% of Seattle tourism in 2024 yet link says tourism in Seattle is down 27%. Something else (might) be going on, no?
-
Travel Portland met with Portland City Council on Wednesday morning to present findings on the state of tourism in town.
The study showed that despite efforts to improve public perception of the city, locals are still hesitant to recommend it to friends and family.
In 2017, 88% of locals surveyed said they would recommend the city to friends and family. This year, that number is at 61%.
“Whether it’s the crime that we hear about, the homelessness issue, and the feeling that people may have, the perception that it’s not safe to be in downtown Portland…those are some of the things people are hearing.,” Astley said.
-
Americans are traveling less too, Madam. You do know that 80% of the population in this country is East of the Mississippi, right? Shorter/fewer trips don't equate to increased domestic travel from the East half of the US to the West Coast.
-
Well Canada wasn't at the white house
-
Thanks for waying inn, old timer.
-
I thought Canada really showed Trump by electing Art Carney
Out of the loop on international affairs and no trade deal
Sad. Stay home losers who cares
-
Washington plates everywhere in CDA. You'd think it was COVID but it's just summer.
-
Still doesn’t explain why Seattle and Portland are way further down than others places, even in the west. Canada is a rounding error for Seattle as I pointed out.
Cost is an issue. Took my daughter to the aquarium on Sunday. Every parking lot in the area was ~$100 for three hours with no baseball game. Lots were all half empty too. I won’t be back.

Blame shifted from Trump insulting Canada to east coast stay-at-home vacations
Trump called Haiti a shit hole. They're still coming
