It's not a celebration of the end of slavery. Based on local TV coverage it's a bitch fest about how bad it still is for blacks in the US and all the things whitey needs to do to make it right. The only celebration is the need for more DEI and the end of systemic white institutional racism like Mrs. Worf being asked to get something off the top shelf by a little white lady. Hardly like MLK Day which promotes being judged on the content of your character rather than race.
