Not a big Beach Boys fan. Fagging out on Kokomo with Uncle Jessie on drums was lame.
Dude was a musical genius though. Next level shit.
Procreated a couple decent looking kids too. Wood Wendy every day of the week. Wood Carney if she’s hit the Ozempic.
people forget Brian Wilson had zero involvement with Kokomo.
I remember 1988 and thinking - the Beach Boys? Catchy tune though
Terry Melcher produced it. Hence, the catchieness.
Mike Love fagged out.
He's one of the great villains in rock history.
Kokomo w/John Stamos not on the list? Sad!
Why did "Fun Fun Fun" get left off the poll?
Because there's only space for 9 and I didn't think it was one of the 9 best.
God Only Knows is arguable their best track and it only hit #39.
I'll be honest and say that most of their music really annoys me because every car show I ever attended was stuck in this era of music and it just made it unbearable after awhile.
Do you wear jean shorts and knee high white socks when you go to those things?
Obviously, as any real american would.
Fanny pack, too.
@YellowSnow - that was a really tough list to vote on. There are like 8 worthy selections. Not voting for "Wouldn't it be Nice" and "Good Vibrations" hurt my soul. By Sloop John B reminds me of my Dad. And it's a banger.
You'll be graduating to a low miles used C-7 before you know it.
I never cared that much for these guys. The surfer and cruising shit is teenager music, which is fine, but not my thing.
Outside of that they could sing awful pretty. I'm a sucker for high harmonies. Good Vibrations is a crazy good track. God Only Knows is their best song. Could've voted for Wouldn't It Be Nice too
I'm actually a little young for both the Beatles and Beach Boys
I caught the next wave of pre metal hard rock like Led Zeppelin. First album on my first stereo. Along with the Doors
The Beatles did a homage to California Girls in Back in the USSR
I got into Zeppelin at the same age as you, just 20 years later.
