So apparently when you arrive to the course they assign you a caddie. You don't have a choice. The caddie drives you around and will care for your clubs during the round. But the caddies are also there to make sure you follow proper etiquette so it doesn't turn into a circle jerk out there on the course.
I'm not sure how I feel about that. I can see pros and cons. It's probably great for keeping things moving.

I’m sure that’s great for pace of play, but probably sucks as far as actually having fun. Maybe they don’t have goat tracks for drunks over there.

I don't even like the service at Nordstrom because it's too overbearing. This would drive me crazy, but I'm sure the trains run on time.
