Running v Sprinting

Throbber is philosophically opposed to running in general (residual PTSD from hoop days when running was the punishment for not complying with tyrannical coaches mandates).
However, sprinting > aimlessly running long distances only to return to the start point.
Not a Kenyan.

Or you could just not run at all.
All a man needs in this life if a mt bike, an erg and to lift some heavy shit. Oh and Peleton for when it's too cold to Mt Bike.

Agree that both have benefits. The key part is ensuring you stay healthy when pushing super hard (sprinting) and don't get over use injuries (running in volume).

Running is for when you are playing a sport/game

For running, I've basically turned to HIIT on the treadmill at 10* incline. Walk for 2 minutes, sprint for 1. I enjoy a nice beach run for perspective, but those are not too frequent.

Meh. Jogging plus incremental sprinting is what works best for me. No huge investment other than shoes and a watch. Don't even really have to have a thorough knowledge of kinesiology as if you are trying to win a body building contest. KISS.
