I was mandated by my company to attend a global warming seminar while working in DC back in 1995-96 (somewhere in there). All the usual suspects were there with the keynote speaker old Al Gore himself. That was 30 years ago. Over a quarter century ago approaching a 3rd of a century. Florida was used as a prop to show all ocean side condo owners unable to access their high rises due to flooding ground floor entrances. Ft Lauderdale homes on the canals uninhabitable. The Grove with eroding and flooded shorelines. The increased occurrences of hurricanes were to have wiped out everything South of Bird Avenue which meant no Homestead Florida anymore. The Keys underwater and uninhabitable. I mean the seminar was all about the destruction of our SE coastline and it was all going to happen prior to 2012. Incredible doom and gloom. Expert after expert spoke. We were all going to die.
There were about 1000 people in attendance after which there was an open bar with tons of free food being served so we had a chance to mingle and see what the attendees were saying post seminar. Most in attendance were press and liberals and boy were they all on board with the mass destruction of our environment. We even heard some talk about selling homes and moving inland to places like the Midwest.
Well, of course, none of any of that has happened. Zero, nil, zip. It was all a lie and in the meantime people like Al Gore got very wealthy and trillions of dollars have been summarily wasted, undoubtedly having been stuffed in the pockets of those who saw the chance for grift. Yet here we are, still being fed a bunch of bullshit. It's like no one on the left has any desire to track history and develop cogent opinions on their own.

Fire sells the news. Climate fear is nothing different.
Why isn't the Statue of Liberty knee deep in water?
Damn you all to hell!
