    Didn’t know this thread existed.

I pull a planned 36hr weekly(Monday dinner to Wednesday lunch) with absolute zero carbs the meal prior and after . The benefits extend well beyond weight loss. A lot of good data out there with regard to liver function. The challenge hours are 16-24 so the trick is to eat a protein rich meal Monday night and then get yourself all the way to bed Tuesday night w/o any cals and meal prep your Wednesday lunch(I do a spinach salad and HBE or something else high in protein) and you’ll be fine. After a month or so the hunger fog goes away during your fasting period and you’ll find that you’re mentally sharper during those hours as your body moves away from craving sugar. The metabolic response over a 6 week stretch is startling and it’s nice knowing that I can drop a cumulative 15lbs of water weight and fat pretty much anytime I want.

Also my wife thinks I’m crazy but this is a woman who would live on triscuits and cheese if I wasn’t around and still weigh the same as she did in college. Also we have every snack known to mankind in our warehouse of a pantry.

As an aside if any of you have instacart for groceries there’s a trick w/ Costco I can get into

Yes. Zero cals Monday dinner to Wednesday lunch. It works out to between 34-38hrs. Water/black coffee only. It’s a routine now. I’ll take a week off every now and then but I typically mesh that with protein dense calories around my fast and am pretty stable wrt to weight.

I could probably move to every other week and get about the same effects. I like how it makes me feel as well as the associated mental discipline, I guess.

The weekends are straight random consumption. Pizza, beer, burritos, whatever tf I want to do I do…Weekdays are more of a focused routine.

So I don't know if this is connected, but lots of claims about inflammation being reduced after fasting, etc. I've had a right knee bothering me for a month ever since I decided to spend an afternoon kicking those light weight outdoor balls to my kids and getting a little too excited to go long every time. Went for a 3 mile run last night and the pain is almost entirely gone whereas 10 days ago it was taking a good half mile to get loose and have the pain dissipate for the rest of the run. Have not done any ice, heat, painkillers, etc. I also don't think it was simply time allowing it to calm down because it was pretty consistent feeling for weeks. Only variable was fasting.

When I am in peak shape (for me) I do one to two 24 hours fasts per week. That seems to be the minimum number of hours for a true fast. Otherwise, it's just xx hours plus not eating while you are sleeping, Hopefully, I'll be doing these in about three months. Right now, less than three months in (current iteration), I am down 60% of my weight loss goal and starting to feel (again) like someone who might be able to run and not be embarrassed. I am loosing track whether this is the fourth or fifth time I have done this. But time is running out. I am (approx) Race Bannon (less 5) years old.

In my world, in addition to water, black coffee and plain black or green tea is acceptable.

That's almost it, Bill. Just eat a huge breakfast at 11 am and don't eat until the next day until noon. It isn't that hard and you can do it again three or four days later.
