I work with some very large Alberta-based oil and gas companies and something is going to happen in Canada with provinces declaring for secession before it does here in the USA. Alberta and Saskatchewan would massively enrich the USA and make us the absolute world leader in energy production. The problem is BC because Vancouver runs it, it’s a far Left shithole now, and it would be isolated from the rest of Canada.
The Quebecers talked about this is the late 90's arguing they were a "Distinct" society within Canada. It ultimately lost steam when the Minister of the Separatist party said they wouldn't pay their share of the Canadian debt. Also didn't help that regions within Quebec said they would secede from any new territory.
Don't get me wrong, would love to see Albertans have more of a voice within their government.
