Imagine being a WA kid and thinking "Nah I wanna just go take a bag in Eugene" after watching this

This is actually a great point. On top of being just a doog with terrible takes on Twitter he isn't inline with the level of player who is featured in this video and should be featured. I'd rather have Jerramy Stevens. At least he was a first round draft pick.

He and that open mic standup duck guy should do a tough man competition…both wearing jorts.

Conerly comes from an extremely tough background and was living out of his car at times. I believe NIL opened up when he was deciding where to go and Phil Knight offered him the biggest bags. My source told me he wanted to go to Washington until NIL and now with the House settlement, the money would be pretty much equal so the future Conerly would likely go to Washington.
Case in point: an Oregon friend had no answer when I asked, "When the money is equal, why would a recruit go to Oregon over UW? UW has every other advantage from location, education, alumni network, etc etc. etc."
Substance > Style

You have to be fair to an extent too. Washington was in a very bad place when Conerly had to make his decision after going 4-8, firing Jimmy, and then hiring DeBoer. Orygun had their issues but was coming off a 10-win season and had stacked TBS classes, unlike Jimmy who would barely even sign guys.
Now with all the recent stuff isn't a slam dunk either.
-Oregon does a better job of promoting and hyping their players
-They've gone hard on at least saying that Lanning won't leave almost no matter what, something UW can't really say with Jedd
-A lot of it is fueled by the portal but they've developed a recent track record of generating draft picks (something they actually didnt' do well in the 2010s)
-They've been more stable than UW post-Petersen and haven't fallen off, twice, like UW. Part of that fuels selling that you're joining a stacked roster, not one trying to be rebuilt after four years of coaches who didn't recruit
-Kids I still think like the stupid jersey shit and now we're getting loser parents who are probably in infantilized generations who dont' think it's stupid now
Overall, if you're local, UW is the choice but it's smarter to see what you're competing against and not just dismiss it.

99% of Kids dgaf about any of those things you listed. They care about who has the better coaches, who wins more, who sends more to the nfl, and who has the better facilities.
You’re in for a rude awakening if you think fisch is going to start recruiting at Oregon’s level due to the house settlement. -
Conerly's dad demanded instant starting snaps which is what he said to some husky fans on X.
-
and unfortunately when you're talking about 17/18 year old kids who now get pampered now from the age of 7 because they can play so style might actually be more appealing than substance, and it's not like most of UW's competitors can't just sell both.
It's why this video just focuses on the football careers and NFL careers of local guys and not how you UW can get you an in to the mailroom at Weyerhaeuser like it's the 80s.
Washington under Jedd and beyond needs to get guys like the one bankrolling the basketball program for some reason to buck up, produce more draft picks next year, and win. That's mostly it. I think Jedd does have a legit thing of being able to get NFL coaches and brass on the phone real easy to sell his NFL stuff, but that's only gonna work so long and so much.

He’ll croot better because uw will be better than last year and Oregon will be worse than last year.

no Brock or Damon?
