Goods can be made inexpensively in many countries besides China. Pulling back from the CCP will create enormous demand. One or more of the following countries will rise to meet it:
India
Philippines
The entirety of SE Asia
Mexico
Indonesia
The entirety of Central and S America
The Caribbean
Supply always, ALWAYS finds a way to meet demand. We just have to position ourselves to be the world leader in energy production. That’s the keystone to the whole damn thing.

Eventually that would happen… however Trump was elected by people displaced by offshoring, so they expect the Rust Belt to make an immediate comeback.

Link to anyone expecting an immediate comeback
Thanks

It's not a binary equation.
There will be some onshoring when we stop subsidizing Chinese production.
There will also be some places where it still makes sense to move production to India or Vietnam etc. Better them than the CCP.
There will be some strategic industries it makes sense to subsidize in the US.
What definitely doesn't make sense is to keep subsidizing offshoring and our competition while getting spit on in return.

One of the biggest issues is the intellectual property theft. We have leverage over Vietnam. If they want to rip off US trademarks and patents we can do something about it. In China, nothing happens and they have been taught that nothing will happen and the US won't do anything about it. The Team Dazzler approach.

It just gets worse with you. Who expected immediate results?
