He’s no nonsense. He tells the kids how it is and some can’t handle that. He said a couple times this year that the players in the roster weren’t responding to his way of coaching and that he had to come at them with a lighter hand. (Paraphrasing) There’s a good reason only two players stayed and it obviously wasn’t money. That said, if they don’t win 20+ next year and make the tourney no one will want to be coached hard by a loser. Kids today only take that from Self, Sampson, Hurley, Izzo etc because they win a lot. Huge tear coming up and I’ll be watching.

We'd be in uncharted territory here if UW makes the tournament next year and he never has a season like we just had again under his watch, but I really think he's going to do it here.
