The point is actually what the NCAA rulebook says about promising benefits beyond those given to other student athletes. Even if it's against the rules, they'll probably dismiss it as heresay (unless someone was so dumb as to put it into writing / email / text.

At least Eric Dickerson was smart enough to get his Ford Mustang from another Texas schools BEFORE signing with SMU.

Helfrich couldn't handle them. I know Lyerla always had issues, but he was a good player under Chip. Thomas was incredible under Chip.
