As Coke mentioned, Waikiki is super, super busy. It really reminded me of a poor person's Bourbon Street in that the foot traffic is tremendous, there is an overflow out of just about every single bar/restaurant and mixed in with Downtown Chicago in that there's shopping all over the place. And one thing I've never heard anybody ever talk about is how bad the traffic is on Oahu ... in some ways it's borderline worse than Seattle.
In contrast, on Maui life pretty much stops as soon as you get close to 7 or 8 pm.
One more thing, Oahu is terrible.
On another note, when leaving Hula Grill on Saturday afternoon, we ran into Kent Griswold roaming the streets, sadly he did not have his giant football. Also, when in the stadium we ran into non other than Phil Bleenor, he seemed to not be enjoying the heat so much.
As for the bend but don't break stuff, I think there is some merit to that for the game we saw Saturday. But I certainly don't think anyone would consider the Seahawks to be bend but don't break. More than anything I just think the explosive play stat is a very good gauge of how your defense and offense is doing throughout the course of the game, especially with the emphasis of offenses to run as many plays as possible. If you can limit chunks of yardage on defense and gain chunks of yardage on offense you are going to do very well.
Oh, GRAA or whatever you want
Anyway the article summed up my thoughts as well.
also, quality post Coker
