This is not picking a side, but it is important for everyone trolling each other (I am not against this, mind you) to realize that the name of the organization does not belie its purpose.
Cleverly marketed, the name "USAID" would have most of the citizens that fund the agency believe it is a humanitarian mission, like the Peace Corps on steroids. It is 100% not that.
Ostensibly, it exists to further the geopolitical aspirations of the United States by paying to undermine State actors who are not giving "us" what "we" want (I am sure there exists a more generous word than undermine…).
Because of that, USAID doesn't care about what happens to the population of the country it is funding i.e. foment revolution/coup/riot/social disobedience.
But, if you are a red-blooded American, it's all for a good cause(?).
