I think my final thoughts on Saturday are: The game was shit, the team was lackluster and dogshit and I think Petersen knows all of this. That being said, at least he was able to coach his way around it for a W despite having to consistently ream his assisstants via headset. I still think they'll be ready to go on the 27th FYFMFE.

You know what, if Sark was coaching that Hawaii game, who's to say the Huskies don't surrender a long punt return late in the 4th quarter, or keep throwing the ball vertically when we should have been milking the clock? It might have been a repeat of the 2012 Apple Cup instead of a win. Who knows.

Agreed, I think we can split the difference on this one. Preparation is one half of coaching, game day is the other.

    Disagree.

Miles and String would have been on the field, allowing for the passing game to work.

    Now ...

There would have been turnovers and penalties that negated the work of the before mentioned players.

Washington wins 35-31 if Sark is coaching that game.

Just like Don James won his ball games.

With Wilcox as the DC, that 31 pts given up would've been excusable because the press coverage with 3 first time starters would've given up a few plays over the top. That's ok. Also, the tempo, tempo, tempo, punt strategy would've given HI more possessions, so on a pts per play basis Wilcox's D would still be better.

Unlike his predecessor who threw players under the bus, Petersen know his own shit stinks. He'll deal with it; maybe not by the next scrimmage, but I also think by the conference opener.

He was pissed about it. You are right that he won't throw players under the bus. He had a quote to the extent that he was going to try his very hardest to try and be a glass half full guy. On the coaches show he said that the players played harder than he intially thought, but they can play much harder.

I have the impression Petersen is very shrewd. I wonder if the "glass half full guy" comment relates to the POS (pieces of Sark) team he inherited being more deeply infected with Dudebrah's undisciplined regimen and partiality than expected. Pete's "one standard" of accountability is no doubt difficult to embrace for many of Sark's prima donna recruits.

Petersen and Sarkisian's approaches are polar opposites. I doubt Pete can build on another man's foundation when the values and principles are so divergent. This seems to escape the realization of Kim and so many other doogs. It is unbelievable, after only one "scrimmage," Petersen is being compared to Willingham! Are there no limits to which doogs will go in defecating all over themselves?
