IFL the music poles (muchas gracias to @Yella), but I am going through an existential crisis with this stuff…do I vote on what I liked at the time, or what my preferences are today? I’m all over the fucking map here…
I look at my selections and it is a mish-mash of yesterday and today:
1976: Age 15-16, and I was all about Boston, Aerosmith, The Space Cowboy, and Frampton. Loved the Eagles, but it was a different vibe…mellow, make out music in the back seat of my parent’s Monte Carlo. I had never even heard of AC/DC in 76, but A Long Way to the Top is one of my favorite songs, now. Voted Hotel Cali
1978: I voted for Sultans (I had a JUCO teammate sing the entire album damn near every day in Econ 101, while the “prof” read out of the textbook, and we sat in the back of class dipping and spitting into big gulp cups). Knopfler is a beast, but VH was the shit, at the time…
1979: Fish v.79, Beautiful Girls. Always liked ZZ, but the appreciation has grown over the years…voted for I’m Bad, I’m Nationwide…
There are more…bottom line, I am snowbound, 3 drinks in (TITTMAHA bored), and apparently need a new hobby…

I love music but I’m not good at it and not good at listening to the technical aspects of it.
My vote is usually decided by whichever song I can hear in my head when I look at the choices.
When it comes to music, sports, and TV or movies your all time favorites usually coincide with your favorite time of life. Mostly 15-25 - a little older top end for sports
The music playing while you smoke a reefer and get a handy from Mary Lou at the drive in is always going to rate high
