Rent free doesn’t do this justice
I went to my first NBA game in over 30 years last weekend against the Bulls.
So fucking boring, but, at least, there was plenty of beer.
I watched about half of the Timbermutts and Grizzle last week. That was the most I've watched since probably the '21-'22 season.
I used to kind of follow the Blazers, but their social media is run by some SJW lesbian or soy boy apparently. NBA sucks. NFL is 3/4 of the way there.
The NBA will never reach peak 80’s basketball and once Jordan retired it dropped off a cliff. Never missed a big regular season game in the 80s. Jordan, Magic and Bird carried the league for nearly 17 years. I stopped watching everything but the playoffs but one and done is big problem. Care less about the NBA, I miss ncaa hoops without the 3 year college stars. F the nba, and last attended watching the Sonics in the Atlanta Hawks new arena in 2000. I don’t even mind the foreign players, aau and the dirty money has also hurt the college game and college football is going down the same path. I expect in 5+ years I will be a fringe football fan mostly because of my favorite childhood team and the as a student many decades in the past. Money corrupts everything. 😡
The best thing about going to the Moda is that you get to upset guys like Mike. Well not Mike. But guys like him that aren't freeloaders and are actually paying to be there.
A Forever Trophy t-shirt doing a few laps around the concourse double fisting some Widmer hefs lasts fucking YEARS in their heads. Bonus points for getting a bunch of dirty looks from quooks at Dr Jacks before they let people in.
Yeah but do they play a song from an overrated horrifically dated movie and people dance at the end of the third quarter?
The Blazers have the best team theme song in all of professional sports. Here's this version that features the best Blazer ever, a Husky:
well in fairness, you linked the second best blazer song ever made
Love Roy obviously but healthy Bill Walton 70s including UCLA, he was a beast similar to Jabbar but Haie wasn’t conceived so it’s a generational thing.
I’d definitely take a healthy Roy over Clyde at the pro level do to his all around game. Can’t remember the exact year 81/82ish ncaa championship was great drama. Phi slama jama era vs Jimmy V. Great memories playing pick up games in Hec Ed many moons ago. Even remember playing at Greenlake pre “brother’s at greenlake”
If our domestic players were still honing their skills while being under the tutelage of great coaches the nba would be a much better product and most of the recent mvps wouldn’t be foreign born. I imagine sooner rather than later the USA will medal but Gold will be less than 50% every 4 years. Shit we wouldn’t sniff the medal round with ncaa players.
Sorry @HuskyJW, couldn’t make it past a minute on your video clip. TLDL ha;)
I liked Roy very much. One of my favorite to watch play through all of those years. Drexler never captured my heart. I was a Porter guy.
Drexler was better than Roy and it’s not even close.
If it was USA versus Europe in the Olympics, we'd be lucky to win half.
When AAU wasn't a sewer and dudes actually went to college three or four years, we dominated.
I’m so old I’ve been to SD Clippers vs Lakers game in the SD Sports Arena!
I saw Spencer Haywood at the Seattle Center Coliseum
Took my brand new stepson and his Air Jordan Christmas present to see Mike in his rookie or second year against the Sonics
40 years on and I still get gratitude for the kicks. I like to call them kicks.
Doesn't it seem that kicks just keep getting harder to find?
I got my kicks on Route 66
My wife buys me skeeter type old man kicks that slip on
Those kicks changed a lot of lives. Mine included.
My kids wears retro Jordans.
We went the Nike employee store recently with all its shitty Duck gear and its crazy the amount of vintage Jordan kicks options out there.
Wear a UW hat in McKnight arena (when UW isn't playing) and then pop off!!
When did you go to the employee store? I’ve been several times in the last couple of years and there ain’t no Duck stuff. Years past it was packed. But that’s not the case anymore when I’ve gone. A couple of crap t-shirts at the most.
They do carry lots of Jordan’s though. That I can attest too. My eldest b lines it over there.
A few weekends ago. Plenty of Duck shoes, jerseys, etc.
Also of note, Sabrina now has her own line of apparel which made my wife very happy.
