The top of the B1G looks stronger than the top of the SEC this year. Kind of been trending that way as schools poach back ups off of SEC elite teams who become stars and stop Georgia and Bama from playing two deep for 4 quarters.
They will each get 4 teams no matter how much you complain because that's who America wants to watch. The SEC B1G tournament. The Big 12 and ACC have some nice stories and the champ of each will be in.
One thing that hasn't changed is that the SEC is the most interesting TV product by far especially with the death of the Pac 10. Random SEC games are far more interesting to watch than say Nebraska v Iowa. Same as it ever was.
If I am not mistaken Florida State is the only non B1G or SEC team to win the playoffs.
When the networks see all the controversy over the playoffs and who gets in they see ratings. And they know we'll watch whoever

Clemson won it twice. FSU won the last BCS game with Crab Legs at QB and then lost in the first round the first of the playoff.
Unlike Pup, I had to Google to confirm.
Forgot about Dabo
As noted by me earlier this year the B1G is probably the worst of the bunch as a TV product and has been for years. I noticed this season that over the last say… 20 fucking years, I’ve watched maybe zero games that didn’t involve Ohio State or Michigan out of that (this) league.
Also, football on real grass is a wildly underrated secret ingredient in college football as a production.
